IJburg Amsterdam | Urban Architecture series
A land of wind and water, IJburg is made up of a group man-made islands, located in the easternmost part of Amsterdam. The city’s youngest area (construction began in 1996), has quickly become popular among those who love modern architecture and water sports.
Photographer Ewout Paulusma tried to capture the beauty of IJburg in this Urban Architecture series. Just recording IJburg's architecture has never been Ewout's intention. Ewout uses his photography as a mean to express his vision and to make an artistic statement. Modern architecture set against dark skies makes you almost feel the fresh air on your face and the wind blowing. The dormant sun contrasts with the thunder clouds and represents the continues change and development of the islands.
